Tell us about your inspiration behind the set.

There is a battle that I have been going through as an artist, performer/DJ; which is to bring the crowd with me as I build a musical journey in a concert-esque way versus solely pleasing a crowd and playing what they want to create an amazing night. The first option offers a performance while playing a range of different genres of music and songs that people may not know or are considered B-sides of albums; and playing songs that they do know to keep them engaged and moving. The second option is what you would expect from your favorite dj at a wedding party, only the hits, people singing and dancing all night. Both are great options, but lately I have been leaning towards the first option. In this mix I jump between both of the options to show the energy felt in the New Orleans night scene, what I feel people would like to hear, and also throwing in different sounds/genres that you wouldn’t normally hear.
