Molly's Calico
Tre’on Beck
Cocktail Name: Molly's Calico
Recipe:
- 1 part Jägermeister Cold Brew
- 3/4part Cincinnati Gin
- 3/4part Caramel & Sage Syrup
- Dash Bittermen’s Krupnik Herbal Honey Bitters
- 1/4part Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
Glass: Coupe
Garnish: Lemon Peel & Jägermeister Cold Brew float
Method: Combine ingredients into mixing tin and vigorously shake with fresh ice. Strain cocktail and discard ice. Dry shake (without ice) the mixture then double strain into mini coupe. Express lemon peel atop cocktail glass to dissipate bubbles on foam. Drop Jägermeister Cold Brew atop cocktail in small parts to give the appearance (or best attempt) of a calico pattern.
Tips & Tricks: In medium saucepan over medium heat add 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of water and bring to boil after sugar is dissolved. Add half a cup of heavy cream along with 1/4 stick of unsalted butter. Mix until we combine then remove from heat. Add 1/2oz sage leaves and periodically stir until mixture cools down and thickens. Strain out sage leaves. Then bottle caramel.

Cocktail Inspiration:
Inspired by my mentor Molly Wellmann's passion for our city's history and mixology, I embraced her favorite phrase to me, "Love you like Calico Cats!"
This heartfelt reminder of connection motivated me to create a cocktail that embodied the essence of the phrase. Combining caramel and sage, with Mollys very own Cincinnati Gin along with the herbal smoothness of Jägermeister Cold Brew allowed the crafting of a soothing and comforting flavor experience comparable to the purring of a calico kitty.
Tre'On Beck, a Cincinnati native, has honed his skills as a master craft bartender. With a decade of experience and a passion for mixology, he has worked in various bars, mastering different styles and techniques. Inspired by his diverse encounters, Tre'On has ventured into entrepreneurship by opening a cocktail consultation company. With his innovative and customized cocktail menus, he travels across the country, sharing his expertise and elevating the bar experience. Tre'On's creativity and expansive techniques have earned him a well-respected reputation in the industry as a go-to resource for enhancing cocktail experiences.
