Sharon Yeung

California native, Sharon Yeung has been in the food and beverage industry for about 16 years. She currently resides in Austin, Texas and manages the bar at The Roosevelt Room. She is also known for her Super Asian Cocktail Popup called “Daijoubu”. Daijoubu is made to highlight the flavors and ingredients of the Asian culinary scene to make great cocktails as well as raise money for Asian American charities. She has also been nominated for the Culturemap Tastemaker Awards for Austin bartender of year for 2018 and 2019, as well as a regional finalist, and national champion in various cocktail competitions. When she’s not behind the bar you can often find her whipping up great dishes and soups at home with her Corgi Junebug.

  • 2 part Jägermeister Cold Brew Coffee
  • 1.5 part half & half
  • .5 part apricot jam
  • Bar spoon Absinthe
  • 2 dash black walnut bitters
  • Pinch of salt
Method: Shake with 5 mint leaves and large lemon swath, serve up & garnish with nutmeg.

Q&A

Cocktail inspiration

My inspiration for this cocktail was breakfast in bed. During all the quarantine stuff it’s been one of the rituals that’s helped me feel normal. Waking up, having my morning coffee with some apricot jam on toast to start my day. So I took that and turned it into a drink.

What hospitality means to me

Hospitality to me means creating genuine connections with others to help shape everlasting memories. I love how first timers become regulars and regulars become friends. The favorite part of my job is the ability to orchestrate an evening for guests, learning the flow of hospitality is truly an art. Knowing how to make a killer martini doesn’t hurt either.
