Tell us about your journey through the hospitality industry.
My journey seemed like a natural progression through the ranks. Being the oldest son of a lifelong bartender and eventual owner, I was around the industry from a very young age. I knew I enjoyed hosting the party in college as I helped promote and plan large parties, also found time to get my degree in business! When I returned from college, I went into the family business, which was at one time considered a local biker bar. I started wherever I was needed: from checking IDs, charging cover, or bar backing.
Eventually I found myself again hosting the party behind the bar. I served drinks and learned alongside countless years of experience as well as 2 of the top flair bartenders in the world. My role has increased and adapted over my 16 years in the industry. Today with my brother (Casey) and Father (Gary), the three of us own, run (and still serve!) one of the premier live music and entertainment venues for the Greater Cincinnati and surrounding areas!
If you only had one day to spend in your city, what are the top 5 things you must see or do?
Cincinnati has so much to offer. There is a reason why so many people born here don't ever leave. We fell in love with it, and it has everything you could want. Districts like Hyde Park, Mt. Lookout and Over-the-Rhine have all you need for excellent food, service, and drinks. Looking for craft beer? We have a few breweries that are absolutely crushing it. Catch a play or comic at one of our theaters. Or, my personal favorite, watch any of the talented teams represent the city on the professional sports stage.
Tell us about your first experience with Jägermeister and your favorite way to consume it today.
My first experience with Jäger was as a younger man, lol. We drank it straight for all the typical reasons: celebration, feeling good, or sometimes no explanation needed! More recently have been providing my customers with the "Perfect" Jäger drink. The ice cold shot from the tap machine, mixed with just the right amount of your favorite cold energy drinks. Sounds easy, but some of the greatest works of art are the simplest. My best experience with Jäger is much more recent as our family-owned "small town" bar became the #1 seller Jägermeister for the state of Ohio (#3 market in the country)!
Tell us how to have the ‘Best Night of your Life’ in your city from your perspective.
Just one night?! Impossible to cover all Cincinnati has to offer in just one night but here we go! As a lover of live music and entertainment, I would start a night off with friends at a local roadhouse/dive bar that boasts live entertainment. Places like this you can find so many of the things that make Cincinnati unique. Cheap drinks, GREAT people of all ages and some of the best live music in the country. Some bigger cities may roll their eyes at the live music scene here but it’s a HOT bed of spectacular musicians. Come and see for yourself if you don’t believe me! After bar hopping around one of the city’s many entertainment areas, the natural move is to head downtown to "The Banks". Down here there is truly something for everyone. Music, dancing, sports bars, fine dining, and professional sports just to name a
few. Our city is electric on game days/nights! And the party rages on outside of the stadiums before and after, win or lose!
Hey all! I am a lifelong "West Sider" from the suburbs of Cincinnati and have been in the bar
industry my entire life. The son of a bartending legend turned bar owner, my family and I have created
one of the top entertainment venues in the Greater Cincinnati area. Husband and father to two, I enjoy
serving both from behind and outside the bar. Cincy sports fan for life! WHO DEY!
