Cocktail: Winter Bootleg


  • 1 part Jägermeister
  • 1 part Bourbon
  • .25 part Minneapolis maple syrup
  • .5 part Simple syrup
  • .5 part Lemon juice
  • .25 part Lime juice
  • 6-8 Mint leaves

Glass: Collins glass

Garnish: Mint sprig w/ a lemon & lime wheel

Method: Add ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake, and dirty dump into a Collins glass; add more ice into the glass, top with soda, stir, garnish and serve.

Tips & Tricks:

  • To make in bulk or volume, blend the citrus, mint, and sweeteners to make an N.A. mixer batch in advance.

Hey Willy, what inspired you to create this amazing cocktail?

The inspiration behind this cocktail is the City of Minneapolis. The Bootleg Cocktail is a classic Minneapolis cocktail, beloved by all, and has been around for many generations. It is a minty, citrusy, refreshing cocktail typically enjoyed in summer. This Remix brings it into the cold winter months, so the Bootleg is enjoyed year-round. The addition of Jägermeister split base with Bourbon is a beautiful cold weather base tapping into those baking spices and beautiful winter botanicals of Jägermeister. Combining citrus and local maple to balance and add body with the mint to freshen the cocktail up is an incredible winter refreshing experience.

Willy Shine began his career in Boston, MA, in the '90s and has been pioneering the craft of Bartending for over 25 years and is keen on all styles. He cut his teeth in Nantucket Island & Aspen, Colorado, and soon made his way to NYC, where he quickly made a name for himself in the bartending community. Willy has worn many hats in the industry as an accomplished bartender, hospitality consultant, and educator. He has consulted on bar development, beverage programs, and festivals. He has worked in some of the most prestigious establishments in the U.S. He has a passion for educating and paying forward the wisdom and knowledge that has been bestowed upon him throughout his career. Since 2015 Willy has served as the Brand Meister for Mast-Jägermeister US. He is an industry expert and educator who has had the opportunity to travel the globe to see, touch, smell and taste some of the world's most well-made cocktails and spirits.
